Northpoint Bible College and Graduate School is a private Pentecostal Bible college in Haverhill, Massachusetts. The college’s sole purpose is to teach and train students for Pentecostal ministry for the spread of the Christian gospel. It offers degree and certificate programs in Biblical Studies and related fields.
In the United States and Canada, the origins of the Bible college movement are in the late 19th-century Bible institute movement. The first Bible schools in North America were founded by A. B. Simpson (Nyack College in 1882) of the Christian and Missionary Alliance, and D. L. Moody (Moody Bible Institute in 1887).
Moody was motivated to found a school to train young people for evangelism to carry on the Christian revival tradition. Crowell established the school on business principles of productivity and performance.
In 1924 Northpoint Bible College (Formerly Zion Bible College) was founded by Rev. Christine Gibson for the purpose of preparing men and women for Pentecostal ministry. The school started in East Providence, Rhode Island, and 1985 relocated to Barrington, Rhode Island.
